Actually I do, thank you. I've built plenty or race engines for buggies and dirt track cars ranging from 4cyl to 8cyl not to mention an Automotive Engineering Degree and ASE mechanic certs. I'm just trying to word things the easiest way possible for others to understand.

As stated, you have increased the amount of Force exhibited/placed upon the crank in each cycle more than stock. IE: If I normally use 5lbs of TNT to blow a building up and one day decide to use 8-10lbs, obviously the 8-10lbs in the similar size building is going to produce a larger explosion and have a larger more powerful shockwave.

that is a poor analogy. were referring to reciprocating weight, not a dead blow. proper balance is key.

Ok maybe a little harsh in my resoonse there, sorry, but factor this. Yes, you are correct in reciprocating weight and rotational weight are what is machined. Now, those items that are "balanced" are spun at a constant speed on a machine without any "shock" to individual areas as when the combustion process occurs. (Harmonic pulses) This is what the Harmonic "balancer" is there for, to absorb/offset those pulses. Now the balancer is only good for a STOCK engine and was not designed to handle pulses outside of stock design and there is no upgraded/aftermarket unit for the 4.0L as there is for V6's and V8's. Now by adding more Air/fuel/compression to a cylinder, you have increased these pulses and will feel whatever the balancer does not absorb/dampen. This is my point. Doesn't matter if you use poly or rubber mounts, some additional vibration will be present, that is all.

X2. I think he knows what he's talking about. I also don't think he could make it any clearer.

I've got the brown dog polys and at first the vibes were bad.. almost uncomfortable. over time theyve gotten better and sometimes they arent there at all. just follow the torque instructions.

Arguing over the internet is a lot like competing in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you're still a retard. Lol

Back on track. I had one by OBX on my 4.9 stroker.

Yep, at first I was thinking, "ah crap this is gonna suck" then they settled in nicely. Only time I notice vibes is at idle with the A/C on. They also helped stop an exhaust leak at the manifold connection as well as curing any thumps or clunks during shifting. I'm also running the Daystar poly trans mount.
