Default Best gear set?

I know I have seen gear sets complete with install hardware, front and rear, for sale reasonable priced but cannot seem to find them now, any ideas? And as long as we are at it do they make 4.56 gears that fit on my stock carrier(3.55) or do I have to upgrade carriers as well? (99 cherokee sport BTW). I know from my drag race past that they make a thicker gear or a spacer for the chevy rearends so you can use steeper gears on stock carriers.

dana axles have gear ratio breaks. d30 will have to have a enw carrier. so will a 44. Not sure on a 35 as its not really worth doing anything with.
chrysler does not use a ratio break and uses the same carrier.
I buy my gear parts from www.justdifferentials.com Great people to do business with and im really happy with all the Nitro stuff.
When I did mine the pricing was great too. Youll have to pick out what you need but if you have questions I have always got a very quick reply. Even on facebook. Im sure they can put together a package for you.

i just learned that the d35 carrier break is something like 3.23 and down.
so the 4.56 will work in the 3.55 carrier on the d35, but you will need a new carrier for the d30 as that one breaks at 3.73 and down.

I guess that I assumed after 96 all cherokees had an 8.25 in the rear, not the d35. Both my 97 and 99 have the 8.25, so I guess I'm ok on that but will need a carrier for the front. Maybe I will win the lottery and can go with an ARB while I'm at it! Thanks for the info!

Hello all, I'm also planning on doing the same setup. I already bought the 4.56 gears without even considering the carriers as well. i have an 8.25 rear and a d30 front. (99XJ).

I bought the gear packages from rough country made by motive gear (I probably could have shopped around a bit better, I know :P).

Questions:
Are all these gear sets pretty much made for the High Pinion D30 (I hope i got the right ones)? Also, could someone give me a link (or just information) for the carrier I would need for the front? Thanks! I really had no idea about needing the larger carrier until now .

Im assuming this is what I need:

anyone know if i can get it cheaper somewhere else?

Your D30 front diff is a 27 spline. Need a different carrier for the new gears. All these vendors should have the right information for your vehicle...

As far as I know, +97 that came with ABS (like mine, 1998) have D35 axle. The others with 8.25 29 splines.
