Torque Converter Recommendations for A340E 600WHP | Supra Forums

The toyota A340 is the same as the AW4, you could call a shop that messes with Toyota supras and they could probably help you out

IPT built my AW4 converter. Pretty efficient turnaround. Unless you have a converter shop local to you, this might be the only way to go.

ATF Speed is about the only shop that specializes in A340 performance parts.

Raybestos red frictions are the most significant upgrade, but not necessary. Once you tear down your unit, you'll have to make the call whether to replace to frictions and with what material. Just make sure you download the A340 manual and measure the clutch pack clearance. Friction thickness can vary by manufacturer.

Trango is a very informative source ive spent quite abit if time talking with him. He has nots hes been saving for years.

If gpz clutches are available id go with them. The red clutches are the tried and true old school stuff. On quick search i didnt come up with gpz being available.

I second having a local tourqe convertor builder. They can set it up how you want. I had a builder do my cummins converter. It turned out very sweet

I did the second rebuikdrebuild on my cummins tranny along with a full valve body reprogram from transgo. Everything turned out much better than exspected. And so much better than the first build were i payed a builder

I love auto transmissions
