i have an ARB Safari knockoff snorkel and stock air box. just gotta use some silicone to seal it up. but the Safari snorkel is likely the best for our 4.0L

I got rid of my K&N set up and went to this cowl intake. So far so good. A bit loud at start up for a few seconds.

I don't know how functional this would be but I thought this was kinda cool.

the best to me is not driving through water that deep. all the stuff below the snorkel that gets wet and requires work now sucks. just avoid the deep water and be good for the rest of the trail

That's no fun, why not just stay on the road then?

I've been in water over my winch water waving forward over the hood. I have a open filter mounted alittle higher than the airbox.

Im pretty sure if an xj is in water deep enough that its going to stop running snorkel or not. There'd be other work to do like sealing up the distributor and all electronics. Breathers hopefully no vacumn leaks.

But the snorkels sure are popular even on rigs that appear to stay on the street

Snorkels look cool. Makes it look like you are so adventurous that you are always off-roading and going through deep water.

How many of you can actually truthfully say that a snorkel really truly saved your butt in a time of dire need?
