Bendix ABS system write up w/ pics?
So I've been searching and searching and cannot find a write up with pics. I've never attempted something like this being life and death. I have the 1991 ABS system and the thing is crapping out on me. I purchased a 1996 brake set up....
As you can see it has the MC Booster and a few lines. Now what I'm worried about is people saying that you have to cut and re do some lines. When I picked this guy up I figured it wouldve been a bolt in application. Anyway my main question is what lines have to be cut and reflared? Anyone know the adapter part numbers or what I need to look for when I go to checkers? Oh and something about smaller lines in the rear cylinder? I'm not even sure what they're talking about. Its sounds like I'm a complete moron but its more or less me trying to get every little detail broke down in preschool terms so I dont get myself or someone else killed. Thanks again folks

Great link thanks. I'm not sure why any of this didnt come up. I knew how to do the booster swap on a normal non ABS vehicle but the ABS crap scares me a bit. Theres a website with a video on swapping the booster. BleepinJeep or something like that. Pretty good info

I took the bendix system out of my 91. It was having issues and then I found out it's a bad system and can be dangerous. So I was glad I got it out. There's a lof BS for that system in there. I got a good bit of money for it all at the JY.
Anyways, when I did it I needed to run new front hard lines, I couldn't get them removed from the brake hoses which needed replaced too.
The size of the fitting on the brake hoses didn't match up to the prop valve I had either. So running new line took care of that. I think we still had to use an adapter on one.
Brakes worked a lot better after getting rid of the bendix stuff. Probably safer now too.
