Im wanting to paint my rocker panels and hood with liner ala Davis Autosports style. Wanting to see some pictures and advice on what works best in terms of brand and methods. Thanks folks!
Seeing as how the hood rarely sees any contact on trails, you can probably go with spray liner (Rustoleum, Duplicolor, etc.). For the rockers, a roll-on like Herculiner would be a bit tougher. Depends on the shape of your vehicle, your budget, and how you intend to use it.

shape is good. minor dents no rust. Budget is below 300. Would like something with a not so lumpy texture. Also something that won't fade with the harsh texas sun. My xj is a daily. I have a tj to play with

Why not just use paint then if it'll never see trails or actually be needed to protect?
The spray stuff has a really even finish and it's super easy to touch up. You can always spray a quality clear coat over it if you want to prevent fade. The Rustoleum spray liner I put on my roof a couple of years ago still looks new, but I live in Washington. Not a lot of sun damage here.

Painting them with rustoleum would be sweet. Just haven't convinced myself to go the cheap route yet ( not enough pics online) . The jeep may see trails in its future.

I used u-pol Raptor liner on the rockers. It sprays on easy and turns out great! For the hood I used a decal I found on eBay which I am also happy with. The biggest thing was prep. Once all the prep was done spraying was easy.

I can get a better picture later, this is just one I had laying around. The texture is much smoother than other coatings I've seen. You don't cut yourself on it like you do on some other brands of DIY coating. It is still rough enough to look good though.
Check the build thread link in my signature. Closeup pictures of the spray on bedliner are on the first page, where I sprayed parts of my roof with it. I also sprayed my chipped up header panel, which you can kind of see here. It's a little far away, but you can tell how smooth it is. The texture is really mild. It basically looks flat black from more than ten feet away.
Since I don't do much hardcore off roading, I plan to spray my lower rocker panels as well.
