bedlining floor.
Is it really that much of a noise increase that it's excessively loud or annoying? iv got a 4month old son and am not sure if the noise problem that iv read about when bedlining your floor is really that bad or its something that anybody can get used to? what other types of things are effects of bedlining floors.
does anyone on the market sell plastic or rubber floor mats? would redlining then floormats be a good idea or should I just roll a couple coats of bedliner and be done with it?

i pulled the trigger and just pulled my carpet today and am going to prep and herculine it tomorrow. the one thing i've noticed so far is that the heater duct for the rear vents almost is held up by the carpet. so without the carpet i'm not sure how the heater duct and center console are going to fit. there's also some wiring running across the floor in spots that i need to figure out what to do with. aside from that its pretty straightforward.'
i'm in for some input as far as road noise goes. if my center console rattles too bad or something i might just put the carpet back in over the bedliner down the road.
i really just wanna end the rotting issue.

Nice! Let me know how the result turns out and take some pictures! I'm sure you can put some type of rubber or something to keep the center console from being loose and vibrating. what type of liner did you use? How much did it coat? And my XJ is 100% rust free and j would deff like to keep it that way!

the center console or the vent isnt loose at all. the carpet only serves to fill the gap.

also it really isn't that loud. I got use to it right away.
also you should really invest in some floor liners. like the husky floor liners.
they really collect a lot of water and anything else that you bring in with your feet

I haven't bedlined mine yet however, I do have floor liners. Totally worth the money. My OEM floor mats were just a sponge for water. With floor liners there's a nice lip that collects the water. I recommend buying from Serious Offroad, they are cheap from him and CF discount too.

Yea there is a noticeable noise difference I don't feel it is to loud but mine is not a dd. one of the biggest problems is that condensation will build up behind the carpet if you live in a wet area even without being in water. This cause havoc on the metal floor pans on the Xj. When I removed my carpet I had to large holes to patch on the passenger side, yes the side with the least amount of entry to track in water.
