moved this to here since i got no help in oem tech
i have to change out my axle seals in my d30. through my research on how to do this ive come across one piece of conflicting information. some say to tq to 45 ft/lbs and others say 60 ft/lbs. what should they be torqued to?

Go FSM or go home.
DO NOT SWITCH OR REVERSE THE CAPS! Doing so will require remachining to get proper bearing "crush", and you don't want that. (The screws don't matter, but the caps damned sure DO!)
FSM torque specs from 1997 and 1999 FSMs should be on my site in the Tech section - they should both be the same, therefore your 1998 will match up as well.
