It appears the wires are well made, when you installed them did you clean all the grounds to bare metal, then coat them?


Before you go any further charge the battery and take it to AutoZone and have then check it for a draw when engine is off, all have some draw to run electronics but a larger one is bad.


My real guess is a bad battery if that old have them load test it. If you have access to another known GOOD battery install it for a day or so and see if that doesn't cure your problem.
