You reply to every thread posted you would think you would have read some.
s10 main will move your axle back. quite a bit. so no go on that. if you want better shackle angles relocate the mounting point.
ram van mains can be used from what i have read and seem like a decent option.
in my case saggy rustys 6.5" springs are perfect. flattened out enough to have great shackle angle and sit at about 5-5.5" lift now! I just hope they dont end up 3" lift springs

NO VOTE, Not an Either or Question. Do one and then the other. Bastard pack is a good lift flexes fine if done right. And cost less than $50. Brackets cost $190 or Fab equiptment and steel. Bastard pack from S-10 is good for a lift from 1.5"-4.5", from the same leaf pack. Brackets good for 1.5" or so, gut give inches more flex.

1. Cut the eyes OFF the Donor packs.
2. Remove the axle and springs, EXCEPT the XJ main leaf.
3. Mix and match the rest of the leafs you have with the Donor leafs, until desired lift is reached. Range is 1.5" to 4.5", depending on combination of XJ and S10 leafs used.
There's really is no more to it. Flex is no worse than aftermarket springs. In fact since you keep the XJ main spring and possibly other XJ leafs in the packs, they could jave MORE flex. But the most of the flex come from the shackles, so that where relocation comes into play.

Might I suggest Dodge Van rear leafs and any (HD Offroad or RC) shackle relocation kit. I am running this set-up on the rear of my XJ, gained about 6" of lift and carring capability. I am running a full size spare, carrier combo and a rear cargo area full of tools, recovery gear, etc. Granted I am still running the over-load leaf to act like a bumpstop, which I could eventually take-out, but its not hurting anything now. This set-up put my shackle at 45 degrees and I have a nice amount of droop.
