Default Backspacing question

So I'm relatively new to lifted Jeeps and trying to figure out my way around and understand whats what. I'm currently running my first XJ ('96 Sport) and so far all its got is a 3" Zone Offroad lift. I've been reading forum thread after forum thread discussing what wheel sizes to get and the suggestions are all over the place so I figured I'd just ask for myself.

I have a set of 31x10.5x15 BFG M/Ts in my garage that I'm looking to get a set of wheels for. Looking around at various 15x7 and 15x8s online but I need to understand what BS I should be considering if I don't want to do any fender trimming for now.
Currently I have it on 31x10.5x15 Mickey Thompson Bajas on OE Wrangler 5 spokes and it fits just fine but I'm not sure exactly what size they are.

Any input would be appreciated.

15x8" with 3 3/4 to 4" of BS is what we most all run without wheel spacers, I run the 15x8 with 3 3/4" of BS on both a 3" and now a 4 1/2" lift.

Awesome! 3.75 was the general idea I was getting but then you see people throwing out all sorts of numbers for "more aggressive looks" and whatnot. Aggressive looks are great and all, but I want a functional rig first, and something that looks mean second.

Thanks

Keep in mind a lot of the folks that run 3.75 BS wheels end up trimming their fenders. Factory backspacing is ~5.5". You will need to bump stop to keep out of your fender flares or trim.

You can figure on what backspacing to get by doing the math. Divide the tire diameter by the wheel width then multiply the answer by the backspacing.

10inches, divided by 8inches=1.25 x3.75= 4.69inches inboard of the wheel mounting surface, or 10-4.69=5.31 outboard of the WMS

He has a 3" lift now I would guess if he has not trimmed them already he is planning on it for the 32"'s to take advantage of all his flex he will have.
