On the daily i have 31s and a saggy 3'' lift. the only rub i get is at full lock on the lower control arms. Its mostly road driven so im not sure what would rub at flex.

285 75 16 with 4" I get rub on lower control arm at full lock only in reverse. I was thinking of getting some spacers myself. I have yet to wheel it with the tire and wheel combo other than in the sand. And I very rarely need to even put it in 4wd for that only when I stop. So its not really wheeling.

4" bs on 8" wide rims is the best imo. It places the mounting surface directly in the middle of the wheel and puts the least amount of stress on axle components.

3.75...4.00. what's a quarter of an inch...
if you are gonna run 10.5, then yeah, 4.00 will be fine.
but to run 12.5 you will want 3.75 to keep the tires from rubbing the control arms.
if you're running 10.5 or 11.5 now, and might run 12.5 later, then just get the 3.75 now.

theoretically, yes.
but they are usually rusted and won't budge.
even if you do get them free, why shorten your turning radius. that is just a pita on the tight trails.
