The Ford SuperDuty 250 and 350 have the solid axle D50. Is what I'm referring to. I had an F150 with TTB and beatvit as hard as a D30. Never a problem.

Nope, Google it. I saw where a guy on pirate used a d44 housing with Dana 50 gears, carrier, and shafts. They called it a Jana54. Not knowing why it's called that until yesterday when atmos said that guys name that started with a j. I'm guessing he was the first to build it or made a kit for it or something.

****. 884x4 I was replying to your PM, hit the back space button and it back paged instead and deleted my novel. I'll have to reply later, gotta run

short version: I bought everything here http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/...KBrackets.html
this happens to be the one I used http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/...g/LINKT10.html
I love 3 links. they're easy peasy but involve a little more bracketry installing than some people care for.
for a D30, I would be tempted to simply buy seriousoffroad long arms if the cost is within $100. it's still just a D30 so the radius arms are great too. I often pick the lazy option in wheeling for a few extra dollars in cost

Looks like a good solid mount. I'll have to do that if I decide to do a 3 link. Have you seen the hd offroad 3 link bracket? It's only a little over a hundred dollars and seems like a god way to turn the ruff stuff diy radius long arm set up into a 3 link

I see what you're talking about. The first gen SD's (99-04) had d50 solid front axles with leaf springs but, when they switched to the 2nd gen in 05, they are d60's with radius arms. For some reason, I thought you were referring to the OBS Fords, which have a TTB d50 when in the 3/4 ton flavor. My 08 has a d60/S10.50 with 3.73's and I've always kinda thought about taking them out and putting them under the Cherokee haha

That's what Huntingman was doing or already did (been a while since i talked to him) to his MJ. He was putting SuperDuty axles under it.

I am going to be using Ho bag's passenger 3 link mount for mine with Clayton lowers and crossmembers. Ho bag also sells a 3 link...

He is "finished" putting them under there. Been on 3 wheeling trips so far with them.

I'm using the same axles. 06 F250 SD axles. 99-04 1 tons are the leaf sprung 60/10.25. Some have the 50 but there are ways to tell them apart. Use google for exact ways.

05+ SD axles are coil sprung with bigger and better UB designs, bigger knuckles, and have the driver radius arm mounts in the cast of the pumpkin. I'm in the process of shaving the drivers side now, what a PITA.

05+ will be replacing the KP fan boys golden axle. This thing is F ing beef. Makes KP's look like twigs really. Once the aftermarket fully catches up and some prices come down they will be the new perrable 1 tons, IMO. The only disadvantage is steering. The ease of bolt on hi steer with a KP is the only advantage I see. There are company's that will machine the knuckles and send them back to you for a reasonable price considering what they do. I believe SOLID axles industries also makes some nice knuckles and slugs.

gotta compare apples to apples. comparing a 37" tire to a 40" tire isn't far off. if you're talking an average build on 40's next to a rig on rock wells and 54's? yeah you might notice some subtle differences.. the TTC rigs are made to go through tank traps and other **** that a rock crawler most likely isn't set up for. at all. and vice versa. apples to oranges

but yeah take a picture when you get a chance
Well I got some pics for y'all.
The rain actually washed this trail out a bit and looks like it got easier than when I was out here last.
I wish I had gotten some pics from the bottom but if you can't tell some of these ledges swallow this sammis tires. (Yes its what's left of a sammi on I think 42s lol)

The JK surprising made it. He's on 37s I think. Had a dynatrac 60 in the rear but was still running a d30...I think he was a bit confused lol.
He eventually made it after being on 3 wheels a couple times and scaring us all that he was about to roll a 35k jeep lol.
Next time I'm out there given I order my Detroit for the 8.8, make my long arms, boat side and stiffen the frame I might try it

Looks like some stuff from Choccolocco in AL. It's all loose boulders that are scattered over steep hill climbs.

damn. wish you had some pics from the bottom of the hill. everything always looks less intense from the top looking down. I don't remember what we were arguing about, and I'm sure that spot would be a mother lover if it was muddy, but from this angle and being dry it doesn't look that difficult.
