Default axle swap question

I've got the vacume disconnect d30 right now but my buddy gave me his regular d30 out of his when he went to full size. My question is does it just bolt up and work or is there other stuff I have to do?

My friend and I just swapped a 99 d30 into his to replace his vacuum d30 no changes anywhere to anything else. As long as gear ratios are the same, I think you'll be ok. Can Anyone else confirm.

You can always just swap out the axle shafts and use a block off plate to eliminate the vacuum, then when you swap the rear axle you can match ratios then With the solid d30.

I don't think I'm gonna swap the rear axle for at least a year or more though.

X2,
Unless there is something wrong with your disco D/30 that should work fine. When you get the cash to do a rear axle swap and go to the 4.88 gears you've already got the front axle geared and ready to swap in.

I may take u up on that man, but idk if I want to use this other axle cuz its low pinion and my current ones high. So I might just swap the shafts. Then id need 4:88s for the high pinion vacume d30 and the d35.
