Rockwells are a ton of work. What rear axle are you running now? What are your plans for the jeep? Anything can be done depending on your fab skills and how deep your pockets are

Also, I think the ball joint 60's are low pinion. I believe the high pinion 60's are kingpin ford axles. No matter how you slice it, it's a ton of work and unless you're running at least 37's its not even worth it imo.

rocks from a 66-72.5 5 ton 6x6 have spring perches in the same place, so they bolt right in with a little wiggle room. you just need an adapter for the pinion brake and conversion ujoint.
Nope I have a ball joint D60 under the truck in my signature and its a high pinion.

To me you don't seem close to ready for this type project. Should do more research on axle swaps and the english language.

Also English should be capitalized and you can't start a sentence like your second one. So don't criticize him too much.
To the OP...
Here is a good link for you that lists the pros and cons of different axles.

Problem is that the info is out there he just obviously hasn't looked near enough if at all. Why repeat the same stuff to every new guy when they can find it themselves... independence is a good think.

Come on is that really necessary? That is why this forum has been slowing down for awhile now. I used to be able to come on and have pages of stuff to read. Now people either don't come back or don't post in fear of receiving pointless ridicule. Just help the dude out if you can.

I agree with you and did not mean to insult you. But to be fair, the search bar sucks. You don't have to repeat anything to the guy... just hit the back button on your browser and leave. Somebody will give him an answer and the thread will disappear. I'm sure that you and everybody else asked some questions that had been asked already. I know that I did.

Lol say things like that and you give them a real reason to attack you. Plus have you tried the other forums? you get ripped apart on Pirate and Naxja is sometimes just as bad.

Need a bit more info on what your plans are for the jeep. Rocks are way overkill for a cherokee due to all the extra work need to put them in. Plus you need a ton of lift to clear the top loader and any tire smaller than a 44 is pointless due to the 6.72 ratio. BJ D60 wouldn't be my first choice for ton axles but they aren't bad either. But then again like stated above unless you plan on tires larger than 37s they are overkill. Most people think they need tons and really don't and once they see how much work and money is involved to run them the right way they decide 35s on stock axles are fine. If you see my sig it says I have a D44 front and that's not necessarly by coice but due to the fact that a D60 front is a grand for one that needs rebuilt and my D44 was 250 locked with chromos. Decide what you end goals are, what you have to spend and then start doing some research. I'd be more than happy to tell you all the things I did wrong the first, second and third time to save you some time, money and aggrivation.
