Axle centered in wheel well pic???
I have adjustable RC upper and lower front control arms. Looking at the XJ from the side (I'm at about 5" of Zone lift), it seems my axle is too far forward now, with the bottom of the springs closer to the bumper. I have followed the "guide" online here as to how long approx. the upper and lower arms need to be. maybe It's just my eyes.
Can anyone who thinks their axle is correctly centered (if the is such a thing) in the wheelwell, respond with a picture?
To be clear, I know my axle is too far off to the passenger side of the jeep too (I have a adjustable trackbar), and before I have the shop adjust THAT, I wasted to see if my upped and lower arms need to be shortened too, bringing the axle closer to the firewall. I'll try and find a picture to post too.

Just make them as long as it says online and you will be fine. And your taking it to a shop to adjust your track bar? That's a 5 minute thing you can do and save the money

I "tried" to adjust my track bar by myself. That's why it is too far off to the passenger side, lol . I tried the whole "have someone turn the steering wheel trick" and use a wratchet strap agaist a fork lift. I have a bad back it it wasn't easy on it trying to "move" the axle. The steering wheel method didn't allow the axle to move over enough.
I'd rather pay a mechanic to do that job.

Cool. I'll adjust them next weekend (I have a road trip this weekend).
Anybody here know if I do the top and bottom at the same amount of shortening, if this will change the alignment?

It might change the alignment..I believe the lowers adjust the wheel base and the uppers will adjust your pinion angle. I've been wrestling with my brackets for the last month, trying to dial them in. My arms are at 16" for the lower and 15" for the uppers. Caster seems to be a huge issue with these brackets...I'm at 6-6.5" of lift though. At 5.5", I couldn't get the correct pinion angle or caster.

"At 5.5", I couldn't get the correct pinion angle or caster."-YIKES
I have the RC adjustable X-flex upper and lower control arms, They say for 4-6" lift. That and my RC drop brackets, you'd think I would be able toadjust the caster to a decent amount? I'll have to check it now with my angle finder, and then check it after I bring the axle to the rear.
My friend is busy this weekend, and as heavy as this is, I'm going to have to wait till around the 3rd of August to try this job.

Thanks Lowrange2-I think that is what I used originally, but I will have to expirament more since there isn't a 5.5" recommendation, and "halving it" didn't work.
