I have been researching cross members and I see that claytons offers a cross member that is different for the ax-15 vs the aw-4. They claim that the ax-15 requires an additional 1" drop hence the reason for the two different crossmembers. Is there any truth behind this with the stock crossmembers? I was unaware they were different since most companies do not offer different crossmembers for auto vs manual unless its the Peugeot transmission. It seems most companies are more concerned with the transfer case then the transmission.
Anyone have some insight into this to clear it up for me?

Yes different x-members. The ax15 one had about a 1" drop in the center. Wish I had pics from when I did the ba-10 to ax 15 swap. W/o an ax 15 x-memebr on a AX 15 trans you can have linkage and clearnace issues.
