You need to start reading links people post if you think you're going to swap a transmission buddy. Could be an AX-5, easy way to find out is plunk a magnet on that center ring. If it sticks you don't want it. AX-15 is aluminum.

I'd swap from a BA-10/5 to AX-15 simply because it's more direct than farting around with a slushbox. Change tranny, clutch bits, bearings, transfer case, done. No TCU, no wiring, no cables.

Jez spend the $250 and get a real deal then you know what you have and a much stronger transmission along with the transfer case. If it were closer I would buy it.

I found out many years ago believe nothing you read and only half of what you hear. I don't how many times I have known people who have bought "as new", "rebuilt", "low mileage" yada yada and have a POS when the came with it.

You would have a harder time selling the manual over the auto as I checked yesterday around the JY in this area for pricing and availability plenty of manuals not that many autos.

JMHO as always and YMMV

Ax-15 has the fill plug on the drivers side. Ax5 has the fill plug on the passenger side. Easiest way to tell.

That's where hand throttle or ebrake comes into play.
