I have two aisin warner transmissions for a 99 cherokee sport. one works great but the tranny case is cracked. the other one does not work but the trans case is intact. Should I Swap them cases? where or how? anybody done this before?

the trannsmission that i have on my xj is cracked where the return line is.where the cooler line connector goes so using JB weld or anything like that makes no sense.. it does not work. and i have already tried it.

anybodie have an opinion?

 

id see if theres any local tranny shop swap the gut over on the cheap for ya

 

you are going to need a paper and rubber gasket kit, and a new filter. any shop should be happy to swap everything over. Im gonna say that it is not something you want to do your self. they can get very complicated very quick, and very easy to make a mistake, even changing cases.

 

Yea if you have to ask about tearing into an auto trans then you dont have the knowledge to pull it off. Although the best way to learn is to try...
