I have recently acquired a Ax15 swap out of a 92 xj for my 99 xj. The biggest question I have as of now is what master cylinder I will need for the 92 Ax15 that is equipped with internal slave. Will any year master cylinder work ? Or will I have to make sure it is specifically for the year of the trans.

 

They make a conversion kit to make it external slave.

I highly recommend that you do that before you put the transmission in. The slave is one thing that does go bad kinda quick and it's way easier when you don't have to drop the transmission.

 

I have been contemplating doing that, do you know where I can get the swap?

 

You can swap any AX15 external slave bell housing onto your AX15.

If you're looking, I have a master/slave assembly from an XJ for sale. (It's for external slave. You'd need the matching bell housing.)

I also have a clutch/brake pedal assembly from a 99 that would bolt directly into yours without modification. The 92 pedal assembly isn't going to fit.

I swapped mine over last year so let me know if you need anymore help.
