Default AUX Fuse Box

I'm considering adding a few of these USB Ports and another 12v accessory plug in the cargo area. I wanted to wire it through a fuse box, like this one. I plan on wiring the fuse box straight to the battery so that the USB ports always have power for charging convenience. Now my question is there a way to wire a switch between the fuse box and the 12v accessory plug in the back so that power isn't always going back to that plug, say when my dog is back there.

Thanks,
hArLtRoN

Very easy to do just run the positive leg (wire) through a switch. Just verify the switch you use is rated above your max load.

Say I were to use
this this
switch. The positive coming from the fuse box would go to the positive on the switch? or the very far right connector? and the ground from fuse box would go where?

Sorry for all the questions. I'm REALLY new to this stuff.

Your ground is going to be on your chassis or to the neg battery terminal. A switch like that either connects the circuit or disconnects it based on position. I used the term leg as it is commonly used and the switch breaks the leg or connects it. Positive from fuse box to one side of switch and other side goes to the positive side of your outlet. Hope that clarifies it some for you.

So the positive from the fuse box to positive on switch, then the negative of switch to positive of plug in back?

Sorry I didnt look too close at the switch. This is a little more involved. The pos and neg on the switch are for the led on it. Didnt see a close pinout on it but I am going to guess it has two pos and a neg. You will need to see which two pins get disconnected when toggling the switch. You can use a continuity tester to figure it out if it isnt digramed, most multimeters these day have that function. A basic toggle switch will only have two pins. This one looks to have three. It likely uses pos in and ground and when you toggle it on it lights up and connects pos to the out pin. Could also always be lit but thats why the extra pin/s.

Ok let's use a normal switch then that only had a positive and a negative terminals. Would the way I described in my previous post be the way to wire it? I could honestly care less about an led light on that switch in particular.

A normal switch wont have pos and neg. it doesnt matter which connects through it as long as its the same in and out but in a vehicle you usually switch the pos side of a device since the whole car is basically neg.

That makes sense. Thanks for the input. Clears up the couple questions I have...at least for now lol.

Thanks
