Who builds engines for them? Autozone just sources the engine.

holy poop thats expensive. i'd rather pay a couple hundo for a used motor... for that coin i'd be swapping in a LS motor.

Whew, I buy used engines with less than 75k on the clock for $199.99.

I would have just bought a different Jeep.

DO NOT BUY IT! They a pieces of **** I had to replace one of theres 4 times even after they send another engine each time ended up taking the engine to a trusted machine shop to have the block work done correctly. First one ended up with a hell of a rod knock after 500 miles second wouldn't cool correctly and blew the head gasket come to find out they sleeved it. Third one the bearing where no good and the forth was the wrong year block and never ran right. Come to find out they used the wrong internals in the block

Should have researched before buying it. Now that you've already built it all I can say is I hope you don't have any problems. Good luck bud

We got rid of the comanche shortly after we rebuilt it. Sometimes I hate autozone..... No wait I always hate them they never have a decent product or for that matter the right product for jeeps.

I work for autozone, and I'm no fan of the company. I despise it actually, but it is a paycheck every two weeks...with that being said...

they sell two different engine "brands", Marshall engines and Surefire engines. they used to sell Proformance engines as well, but have since been bought out by Surefire. I've sold numerous engines to several accounts I have, and the only ones I've had issues with are the Surefire engines, however, it's been a couple of years ago since I've had any issues with them. Since Surefire bought out Proformance, their engine quality has increased. Warranties are honored, and engines have been reliable thus far. As far as Marshall engines go, I have yet to see one come back, so I have no complaints about them. You should be in good hands either way. AZ has had it's trials and tribulations with several engine manufacturers, but it seems like they've got it figured out, finally...

As for the guy who had 4 different engines...you should have kept swapping motors instead of paying more money to get the block done by a machine shop. AZ will keep swapping It until you're happy with it....you spent unnecessary money amigo...
