I've got a 92 Cherokee had a lockrite in the front D30 that was destroyed a while back, thought i broke an axle but theyre fine so removed the carrier and the locker was fried, was looking at an aussie for the price but everyone ive talked to is telling me to try a spartan was trying to find someone that is running one now and find out how its performing

I totally recommend spartan lockers. I have them front and rear. They perform very well offroad! The front one does great on the street! The back one locks up sometimes and the tires skip as if you were in 4wd. I do recommend buying them from the guy on pirate4x4. $220 to your door!

I have an aussie in the rear of mine and love it. It doesn't make the tires chirp around corner like my bud's spartans do, but he loves his spartans as well......

Do you have pics of the blown locker assembly? I'm curious to see what happened. You don't hear those lockers getting damaged unless something else is wrong.
As far as the locker in the rear goes, as long as you're going straight the rear locker IS locked at all times. It disengages when you let off around turns. That's when the locker will "ratchet" and not chirp the tires. All the lunchbox lockers have the same principal in how they work. I have a Spartan in my D30 and love it. Occasionally I will get a pop when turning in reverse but I think it's because of the drag on the front shaft combined with the axle travel when turning the wheel. Offroad it's amazing but all lockers pretty much are. There are many debates about them in the snow. For this, I cannot comment on yet.

Don't have pics of the lockrite maybe take some tomorrow but all four pins broke and three of the holes are oblong now instead of round went ahead and got the spartan and the pins in it are almost twice the diameter of the ones in the lockrite other than that the two lockers are almost identical. thanks for the replies.
