I'm running a Dana 30 with the CAD fork pinned to couple the 2 passenger side axle shafts together.
I recently purchased an Aussie locker for this diff and was wondering about the install
When you take the diff cover off and look at the passenger shaft as it goes into the spider gear there is a clip holding the shaft to keep it from walking out of the spider gear.
Does this same clip get reused when you replace the spider gears with the locker or do you omit that clip? I ask because if that clip is to be reused, how do you install it with the locker in there...for those not familiar...its not like a standard C Clip...its more like one of the twisty circular clips used on U Joints to keep the cups in...but it appears that it installs and functions the same way a c clip would.
Anyone done a lunchbox locker on a Dana 30 with the old vaccum disco (2 piece passenger axle)
If anyone could share whether that clip gets reused or omitted and anything else I need to know on this install it would be greatly appreciated...

You dont want to lock the front axle with the cad still in it. It will break, and wont take much abuse to break it.
Get a long side shaft from a jy, put an axle seal in and get rid of the whole cad setup. Make a block off plate for the cad housing and call it a day.
As for the clip, im pretty sure that is not factory. I have never seen a clip holding that shaft in. When i removed mine it slipped right out.
