Torx bits are a good way to go. Those non-reversible screws can def cause problems...

But ive learned that if they want it bad enough their going to take it, or smash the Heck out of your jeep trying. Ive owned alot of different jeeps and they all seem to attract break ins.

Hmmm, building a frame around the sub is sounding like a good way to go! But I also will be bolting the enclosure down too. How would I secure the frame down? I don't have a welder at the moment.

I'm wondering If the box will be small enough to fit outboard, looking inboard. Instead of looking to the rear.

Drop tank, screw into floor, cut screws short, replace tank, (if your me) realize you messed something up and have to undo it... Haha.. Idk.. Seems the safest..

My sub enclosures are pretty anti-theft pending how there installed. I had my last one bolted in at the box and into the sheet metal behind the panel. One could use those square head screws to install the sub. Not many if any people would be carrying one of those to get the sub out.

take the Sub out of the sub box, bolt the sub box to the floor and replace sub, use a allen key style bolts to hold the sub into the box.

I'm going doorless soon, so this something I'm worried about too. What about moving the radio out of sight and putting a switch plate in the old slot. Even if u don't need the switches, as passing thief sees the plate thinks you don't have a radio and moves on.

As for the sub, my plan is to make the sub box look like a home made storage box.

So as long as the thief doesn't see you riding around blasting the tunes then ur good

Problem with wheel well space is you are limited to one sub, though a JL Audio w7 10" on a 500w mono amp would be all you'd need... If you have like 2k... I don't...

..or a proxy sensor, as mentioned, haha...

You could build the sub in a 4th order enclosure so they wouldn't see the woofer itself and then bolt the enclosure down. Or you could just get a 60 pound sub in a 100 pound box and bolt it like me so it's a PITA to remove
