Attaching winch bumper
Got stuck in a hole the other night and when pulling my self out with my winch the bumper ripped off the front of the jeep. I was wondering what everyone is doin to attach them and make stronger

Sounds like your bumper as attached to the front 3 bolt locations only.
Winch bumpers should always mount using longer mounting plates and pick up more of the holes along the unibody frame rails. Here's a pic of my winch bumper, note the longer sides.

How was yours setup?
I know my bumper is back further than the steering box and (tied into it as well with the 3 bolts) and iirc there's 6 bolts per side, which is usually used as a minimum amount.

Nates 4x4 sells a set for $50 that look exactly like those posted above. Thats half price of those ones.
Also, considering you ruined your front 3 holes on each side, i would get aftermarket mounts that go all the way back, and then have them welded on.

I just installed my jcr winch bumper with their brackets. They also have some L shaped unibody tie in brackets that go along with tha set. It is certainly a beefy set up. Very happy with the whole package.

The brackets we send are actually 7" longer in the front than what is pictured. Brackets and hardware kit come out to $80, use our discount code "12PERCENT" and the price, including shipping, comes to 70.40.
Hope this helps

Yea my home made brackets go almost to the track bar mount. On any winch bumper you want that and lots of fastening points as well as being held on by the steering box bolts.
