Hey guys!
Finally finished up the header and 99+ intake manifold install on the '97!
The PaceSetters didn't give me any issue during installation. I cut back the old exhaust to the section where the "pre-cat" was supposed to be (there wasn't one in my jeep) and it installed very easily. No grinding. No bending. Very little cursing! The only war wound was from unbolting the old exhaust flange when I smashed my thumb on the cardan joint of the driveshaft.
One bolt, behind the #4 primary tube, required outside help to install correctly. I shortened it 1/4" to get it to fit correctly and torqued it from underneath the vehicle with my 9/16" open end wrench.
I lengthened the O2 sensor wires by 9" and re-routed the line over the motor mount, zip tied to the fuel and brake lines, and shot it over to the port on the lower section of the Y-pipe. Not too big of a deal.
I had to re-locate a couple vacuume fittings, but didn't have to lengthen the IAT sensor wires (yet). I may do so in the near future, because it was a very tight fit.
My '97 now has a LOT more torque in the lower RPM ranges. It sounds amazing with the new headers, almost evil. I'll post some pictures and maybe a link to a video later. If you have any questions, let me know!
