Default anyone used bds long arm?

im looking to do a long arm upgrade. im really leaning towards iron rock. but the local off road shop thinks that bds is the way to go. they have a 4 link style setup. it looks really strong but does it perform as good? any input?

bds is awsome. all of the long arms i have built, i have built just like bds. only thing i dont like is that you have to drop your suspension to drop your t-case.

true 4-link long arms are the way to go!!

here is why i run true 4-link. i just quoted it from my mid-arm build thread.

i am not a fan of y-link setups because you only have two joints holding your axle in place. i beat the crap out of my jeeps and then drive them home. it would be nice to know if a joint lets go, i still have three other arms holding my axle in place. i also dont like the unloading characteristics of y-link.

i am not a fan of 3-link pretty much for the same reason as y-link.....they dont unload like y-link, but you only have 3 links holding your axle in...a joint fails, your s.o.l.

the last arms i built were "long arms" that mounted to my custom tranny crossmember. everyone says, how many times will you actually have to take your t-case out?..............Well, two times the week after you put the long arms on if you are me!!!! (front output seal went out twice). so that design doesnt work for me.

with the ironrock long arms, it will unload like a y-link, and you have even less joints holding your axle in. alot of people around here love it. i think its sketchy.

your local shop wants you to buy BDS cause its fawking pricey, and IRO is on the low side. BDS is great but if you arent made of money, there are other very good kits out there

I agree. I was very close to getting the IRO kit when I got a great deal on a Clayton's set. When I was bolting up the UCAs, I could swear that the axle was twisting ever so slightly if I unloaded the ratchet strap with just one UCA bolted in and both LCAs. Considering this is how the IRO kit is all the time, Im not sure I can really trust it.

That being said, you can argue with the track record their kit has. No failures that I know of

He's not worried or trying to get me to buy because of prices he can get me the bds for same price as iro. I was thinking iro with bilstiens. I got a budget around a grand for long arms with bilstiens.
