Anyone ever change the races in the IRO long arms?

Hello, I need to replace the nylon races in my RE joints of my IRO long arms. I'm broke and can't be with out transportation right now. I want to do this myself but I'm a little weary of dropping the one control arm that has the 2 points of connection to the axle, specifically only having the C/A with the one axle connection - like it would rock forward or backwards. My game plan was to chock the wheels really good and then just drop the arms 1 at a time and replace the races. I wasn't even going to put it on jacks or anything. Please give some advice if you have it. If anyone has done this and chime in I'd greatly appreciate it.
