Like Frank said, stick with the spot or pencil beam lights on the pillars anything else and the glare will be extremely hard to drive with.

If you plan on mounting lights to your A-Pillars make sure you chose the correct lamps.
Never install anything other than a pencil beam. Fog or flood lights have no business here. they create a tremendous amount of glare and reduce you visibility.
Fogs and floods should be up front and below the headlights, pencil/spots lights go above the lights, preferably above the hood.

I used the KC long range slim lights. They have worked well but are kind of pricey, KC makes a new series called Apollo lights. They are a good bit cheaper than the other slim light series. KC are the only lights I can comment on first hand though. Ive never ran anything but KC's but there are many options out there. Just make sure to get something with the pencil or long range pattern and you will be fine.

noob question here, but how to do you get flood's under the headlights? Wouldn't they sit too low? They're usually not small lights, like the fog lights?
be cool to get a cop spot light thing . with the handle inside the cab, so you can angle the light ive seen them on everthing crownvics pick ups . i would imagine junk yard or somewhere would have one and it adds cool points. also if you ve ever been pulled over you know they are super bright

The company I work for carries them, although I'm sure we wont have any in stock for an XJ.
