Today in auto shop i attempted to put my 2" Coil Spring spacers on my Front end of my 96 2wd jeep. However, We could not get the axle to droop far enough down to get the spacers in. Now, my teacher, who was a chrysler mechanic for 20ish+ years was helping me. We disconnected shocks, and the sway bar, and hoses. It should have drooped enough for the spacer to fit right? or do i need to dis connect the trac bar? or control arms?

a little more info would be nice... like do you already have a lift kit installed on it and if so how tall.... also does it have factory or aftermarket control arms...????

What i usually do when installing spacers/ small lift coils is drop sway bar mounts, track bar from the axle side, steering tie-rod from the drop pitman arm, and then shocks.... then they usually go in fairly easy...

should drip right down. if the original control arm bushings are there, it could be the problem, they seize on the bolt and wont rotate, so your fighting the bushing to try and pull the axle down. if you guys have a porto power or even a bottle jack and some wood, put it between the frame rail and axle tube and push it apart. just be careful with brake lines, but it should go
