Default Aluminum vs. Copper Radiator

Time to upgrade the cooling system and do-away with the airplane propellor on the front of the engine. I'm trying to find a great radiator, but want to stay away from plastic and cheap alternatives. I like this one:

Anyone know of any other great radiators out there? A fan kit isn't absolutely necessary because I can wire in some myself and mount them to one, but what is the advantage of brass over aluminum? Brass seems like it would be easy to fix on the trail with a torch and some solder...

I would stay away from the copper ones just considering they weigh twice as much.

i first repalced mine with a OEM style repalcement. it blew out the drivers side tank just after a year of using it. then repalced it with a 3 row, i love it, 1 peice. got it threw my dealer for 135$... can beat it. the link above had it for 175$. way better then the 500-800$ options.

Aluminum is way better at heat conducting heat. I use a Gryphon aluminum in mine and don't have any issues.

I went with copper because of it's durability and ease of repair. Not really worried about the weight of it. If I ever break something on this one, it'll be really easy to fix. Plus, my single core was cooling fine until I broke it, and this is a three-core full brass/copper with CuproBraze welds instead of solder. It looks like a really nice unit. That coupled with FF Dynamic's Extreme Triple Threat cooling fans and thermostatic control should keep it cool in hell. I'll put some pics up when I get it in.

Sounds like a nice setup! What brand rad did you pick up?

How did you wire the fans, one on all the time? or all of them on at once?

The original plan was to wire them to independent thermostatic probes so that they came one individually and at different temperatures. The problem is finding a place to drill and tap three 3/8" orifices to house them. So, I let FF Dynamics do the wiring and fan control for me. I'm not sure how their probe works yet, just ordered the $375 fan conversion kit yesterday. I can't remember the radiator brand name right now... I think its a three letter acronym that starts with C... CRI, CTF? Anyway, you can tell by looking at it that it's much more stout and solid that my stock radiator.
