Dunno what you mean by oval or spin...

But the correct muffler is 2.25" CENTERED inlet and 2.25" offset outlet.

I was taking a look at the Thunderbolt cats, and they had a category for oval cats or spin/spun.. Not sure what that's about, as I said, this is my first time doing something like this.

I looked up the parts on performance-exhaust and this is the cat and muffler that they're saying work with it:

Is this a decent cat? Or should I go with the thunderbolt? If so, which thunderbolt one matches the fit?

For a muffler OE is 2.25" Center / Offset. We use a 2.5" Center / Offset in our kits. However if someone is custom bending pipes for you pretty much any muffler will work.

which headers would you guys recommend, pacesetter or gibson? i have read reviews on both, they both seem good, but gibson seems better. my question is, is gibson worth the extra money? i already have a cold air intake and a cutback exhaust. i need to replace my manifold anyways so i might as well upgrade

I had a crap pacesetter on a jeep and it cracked in like 3 months. I have a banks and its sweet!

No reason to spend a kabajillion and seven dollars on an exhaust header for a 4.0... my Dad's TJ has run one of these for almost 20k now...

I'll go with the Gibson then. It's pricy but after reading lots of good reviews and a few people recommending it, along with you saying pacesetter is no good, Gibson seems worth it

^ no they are not. The word inlet should be stamped on the case.

hey got a question for all of you gear heads out there! so back in october i bought a 2001 jeep cherokee and have done allot of work on it. i got a 12'' magna flow glass pack and resonator for it. it sounds really good but i would really like to make it have that crackle sound at idle like allot of muscle cars and hot rods have. i wanted to know how i could do this. this would be the best place to ask so any ideas? its a straight 6 4.0 liter not the high out put addition. thanks!
