​​​​​​Yeppers, quite familiar with emissions thanks for your response. Ya I would be eliminating the cats, and yea the state I'm in has no regulations with emissions.
My worries were the physical size of the ports from the head to the manifold. If the 99's were a different size to the 00/01's

The ports are smaller on the 00-01 so you should be good. I've only heard of issues with using a different intake/exhaust won't be renix Cherokees because the intake and exhaust ports were in different locations than they are on the newer heads

Do you have a CA Emissions one or a Federal Emissions one. My '00 is CA Emissions. I replaced the dual cat back. All Walker parts. Everything is 2.25 if I recall correctly.

I am going to purchasing/replacing the exhaust on my 98 Cherokee while getting the lift installed, including the catalytic. Cost is a factor to a degree, as I have a gift card to use up as well....
Can anyone share any experience they have with these, as well as telling me if the catalytic is the correct one for bolt on installation (I don't know inlet/outlet diameter, as it isn't shown where ever I look):

MAGNAFLOW DIRECT FIT CAT part #23226 (ALSO, is this a high flow cat? I'd like one, but not if it's gonna drone a lot or make being in the cab unbearable @ highway speeds....I've rode in rigs like this, really don't like it, lol)
BANKS POWER MONSTER EXHAUST #51360---2.50 tubing---I chose because of cost; construction, and reviews that stated it was not over the top loud.
I am lead to believe these are direct fit/bolt on for my application, which is something I'm also looking for.

Hoping to make my jeep breathe a lil' better than stock; maybe increase low end grunt a lil; not expecting a huge hp increase, and sound halfway decent without making me even more tone deaf, lol.. Any info, experiences with this brand, or other options would be much appreciated

Looks clean, sounds mean...when I want it to. Yes, it is louder but the MPG and performance gains are worth it 100% in my book. Also replaced the distributor, CPS, plugs, and just installed some new Taylor Thunderbolt wires:
Total transformation. If I said I was pleased, it would be the understatement of the year. I am ecstatic that it all came together so beautifully and I am proud to call my XJ my daily driver. Just my 2 cents.

Huh. Not sure why you can't click on the links as they are working for me? Maybe you need to change your IE or Chrome extensions or something. At any rate, you can just copy and paste the parts in my sig in Google I believe.

I forgot to mention I also replaced the "B" pipe that runs from the header to the Cat. The factory B pipe has a restrictive bend in it that was probably designed with the MVH in mind (motor vibration/handling specs) and besides, it was pretty funky looking after 235K miles.

Once you remove all the restrictions designed by Jeep engineers to keep the cabin noise to a minimum, it is louder but you reclaim the power you never knew was there. My rig has a new lease on life. I literally can not wait to drive it and I make up excuses to take adventures with it whenever possible.

So I may or may not have an issue here. Right before the flange where the rest of the exhaust bolt to the manifold/header, the 2.5" pipe is bashed in around 2/3 of the way through. It seems to run fine and sounds fine, but how much of an issue could this be causing/ cause later on? The rest of my exhaust is open besides a Thrush Glasspack near the end.

Hey fellas. Help me out. What's the best way to repair the exhaust i have. I think the bolts are loose or something right where the pipe meets the catalytic. At that ubolt looking flange it has a rattle/small amount of air water coming out at cold start.

Should I just get a new exhaust since it's 247k miles old? What's some ideas.

I'm im process of adding a quieter muffler along with an electronic cutout. I thinking of going with a flow masters 60 series and have it exit out right in front of my rear passenger tire, but right behind my rock sliders. I'm going to have them removable so i don't crush them while crawling or off roading.
I'm on the fence with the QTP cutout but they don't have a good reputation for lasting very long, especially with harsh environments. I really don't want to replace one every year a $300 a pop. My other option is the noweeds universal system (link below), which is a bit pricier, however, a hell of a lot more robust.

Any thoughts or input?
