It's price also. 235/75-15s and 30-950s are about 400-450 shipped for good tires. 31s get into the high 500s

...it cost me $482 for the same by the time I walked out the door (taxes & what-not). Best buy in decent new tires for a stock-ish XJ anywheres.
...they don't look that bad with a 1 - 1 1/2 inch lift, either.
But I admit to tire envy for everyone running 30x9.50xR15LT's. But I just couldn't spend the extra: money remains tight, and I got bunches of stuff I'm doing (and want to do, now) to the 'kee.

Those look better than I would have expected for a 3 inch lift.
Did you have any vibe issues? Or have to do anything other than leafs/springs/shackles/spacers?
And are you butt-high with that? (I am right now 'cuz I only have new leafs: coils today/tomorrow/this weekend ...but the driving orientation is weird, with the rear lifted almost 1 1/2 inches over the front ...well, to me. Just don't feel right. Even my wife noticed.)

Hi, new guy here. I just lifted my 93 Sport yesterday, used 3" coils with 3/4" spacer and rubicon express 3.5" leafs. Without dropping the transfer case the yoke binds at the driveshaft. I dropped the tcase 3/4", it drives but at about 15-20 there is a strong vibration. Tomorrow im going to drop it a full inch to see if it gets any better. Was wondering if anybody else has ran into this? I didnt think 3.5" leafs would be that much to cause a yoke to bind.
If you haven't worn in the springs much flex them out or put a LOT of weight in the back for a while to help settle the springs...should help out with vibes...at least some.

I'm going to be starting my lift tomorrow morning and in preparation I'm anticipating that the rear upper shock bolt heads will shear, I've been spraying them with pb but I'm not that lucky so I'm planning for worst case scenario. I just need someone to confirm replacement bolt size. I am looking at buying 1/4 20 x 3/4 bolts is that right? And then washers and lock nuts.
