I'm getting ready to put a 4.5" Rough Country lift on my 98 XJ, and I was wondering what length brake lines I'll need when replacing them. Also what are the largest tires I can put on without needing to trim?

They say you can run 32x11.50 without cutting. And the lift comes with "brake brackets" so you won't need exstended brake lines

Really? A 4.5 lift with 33s needs trimming? I have 31s (actual hight at 32") and I have so much room and flex. I think your thinking of a 3" on 33s? Or I'm on crack. Haha

That's my Jeep vvvv 31s on 4.5

maybe I'm just high. Who knows. I was using compressed air earlier! D:

But yes you should get longer ones, I haven't yet and have been wheeling, but I'm just pressing my luck I think.

Yeah most the time 33s will need trimming even with 4.5".. You were probably thinking that though cause most people run aftermarket fenders or trimmed fenders with 33s on 4.5" and look good/have plenty of room.

depends on flex, backspacing, control arm length, and ACTUAL tire size.

back when i was on 31's with a 4.5" lift i was able to rub the tires under compression.

forgive me for probably beating a dead horse, but I just purchased an 89 laredo and an looking at a 4"-5" lift on it. From everything I've read so far, a SYE, custom driveshaft isn't necessary but recommended? I will be running anything from 31"-33" tire. That said what is this 3"+2"BB I am seeing around, and besides cost, are there any advantages and disadvantages to it?

Makes sense I guess. I wouldn't have thought that 1 inch wouldn't have made a difference like that.

not for sure (check with the actual post), but usually I think it's dependent on the laws of the state the base resides in.
