stock front: 6 3/4"
stock rear: 6"
Hey Guys,
I need to lift the front of my 96 xj it currently has 3" coils and 2" spacer but its not lvl with the back since there is a 1 1/2" shackle in the back. How can i raise the from about an inch without buying new coils?
Can you stack a 1" spacer on top of the 2" ( inknow its frowned upon but is is plausible?
Do they make any spacer over 2" for an xj? I already looked at the adjustable spacers but they are a little expensive $234...
Open to any suggestions or comments on the adding a 1" spacer this is a LOW BUDGET jeep.
Thanks

For a low budget jeep you're going awfully high if you're adding lift to that. Without knowing your equipment setup, you're getting into the range where you need to put serious money into replacement control arms and trackbar, and driveline modifications at the bare minimum. I'm just wondering why you want to go higher?

But I'm so much more loveable
It will happen soon. Let's plan a (non-wheeling) meetup in the near future.

posted this yesterday but didnt get any answers so im posting it here... I just got my 3in rough country lift i am regretting it after reading more on this forum and it seems like everyone ends up going 4.5in. Bringing me to my question I know that a 3i lift is really not that noticeable form stock, but is it noticeable when driving like do you sit any higher or does it feel same as stock? And my second question is does 3in actually make a difference when off road? Alos with 3in would you suggest a sye

As for offroad, i'd day it does help. I went before my jeep was lifted with my dad and his cherokee that has the same lift I do now. There was a spot where I ended up doing a little teter toter and he didn't with the 3.5in lift. He just flexed it out. Just keep in mind if you do want to go offroad, you'll want extended brake lines to be safe.
okay thanks for the help i was planning a trip to Minnesota so i just wanted to make sure that 3in would even do anything, i really like the look of 4.5 but i am a beginner and i guess i should just start installing my lift.. thanks for the help also with 3in and 31's did any one notice a big decline in mpgs

I went out, after running the lift for 6 months, and measured from the center of the hub to the bottom of the flare and got 18" front and 18.5" rear. I am going to measure from the top of the axle tube to the bottom of the frame rail tomorrow because I can not believe I only have one inch of lift.

RC 3" lift with stock tires:

Not fully flexed out but not bad either.

I did remove my RC-LCA and replace them with RE-LCAs last week as the RC's were very noisy.

So far my 4.5" RC lift doesn't have me impressed. I wish I would've saved more money for a RE lift. The RC lca is noisy! For the money I can't complain though. I had a 4.5" RE on my last XJ and the quality was better along with the ride. I'm going to save some money after my sye to get the RE long arms. I did get 7 3/4 inches of lift from the RC kit though. It will settle some more over time I know but I have almost 4000 miles on it since installed and it only settled about a 1/4" so far.
