Good that's what I was expecting, thanks.

Now it's a monetary issue

i searched control arms in this thread and didn't find what i was looking for. Can i use stock control arms from a wj or a jk if my jeep has a lift or would it be the same as my stock control arms?

Depends on the size of the rim the tire fits..you say 33x12.50 bit yur missing the -?? Like my dura tracs I'm run which I love by the way awesome tire are 31x10.50-15.. bein 33's personally I think they will look good on a set of 15x8 's that's what I'm runnin on my xj I bought the unique soft 8 black steel rims the stock rims are 15x7 so the 15x8 is an inch wider plus 4.75 back spacing and a pretty nice offset. I think the stock rims the guy at the tire place MIGHT have said they were a -6 offset and the steelies are 6 I think I might be wrong..but none the less great tire choice and good luck

while back i was talkin bout adding/stacking wheel spacers. today i got my 3in lift in the mail. was comparing spring size to the stock when something caught my eye. the front sway bar on the driverside is screwed. the bushing has completely rotted out and just the metal is holding it on the driverside. looked at the passengerside and its still good, just has wierd scratches on the bar itself net to the wheel. just wondering how long i can still run it (when i finally get friggen gas) before it goes out and causes me to roll like crazy? would it be safe just to say "screw it" and go all out till it snaps? once i get gas a things settled, gonna try and take it bout 50mi to my g-pas place and install the lift. and also this kit didnt come with shocks or steering stabilizer. can i install the lift anyway and run it that way?

i fergot the pics. hopes that helps more. okay, thanks fer that info. lol, now where is a good place ta found em? it's a rough country lift kit. the site wants 34.95 a pop and the stabilizer is 35.95, so bout 175 in parts alone, the lift was only 100.99 shipped.

Is there any chance of getting vibrations after doing a 3" RC lift on my 2WD xj?

Yes. The vibes come from the u-joints having too much of an angle from installing the lift because you're essentially lowering the axles. The only difference with you is that you only have to worry about the rear drive line a opposed to 4wd who have to worry about front and rear.

Talking I could use any wisdom I can get.

I have a 89 xj 4x4 auto and I have acquired almost everything I need to begin lifting it. This is what I have or ordered so far.

*4 inch front springs
*3 inch short rear addaleafs with hardware
*U bolts
*4 RS5000 shocks
*Track bar relocator bracket
*front sway bar drop downs
*YJ brake lines

So my question is...what am I forgetting? Do I need to do the Upper and/or Lower control arms right away? I don't need to do a SYE since the back should only net about 2 more inches...right? Are there any special tools that I will need or have a hard time acquiring? Any special tricks or tools to make the install easier since I will be doing it? Will I be able to fit 32X10.5 or 32X11 if I cut the fenders with 4inches in the front and (almost)3inches in the back? My steering is a little sloppy already, the bigger tires will probably make it worse...will a new (stiffer?) steering stabilizer work? Is there any other parts that i should look into to make it more solid off road (but still onroad)?

I know it's a lot of questions...it keeps me up at night! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default affordable a/t tires

hey guys,
i just got my first jeep a couple weeks ago and i need to buy new tires, i have a stock 2000 jeep cherokee sport with no lift and want an affordable set of p235/75R15 all terrain tires as i am a college student attempting to save some money. Any suggestions will be appreciated, thanks.....and also i want to buy 15" cragar soft 8 rims, will the tire size above fit on those rims?

So if the usual fix is a TC drop, what would I do in a car without a TC? And what are the chances of me having vibes? It's looking like i'm going to have to drive home from college one weekend to get it done, and I don't want to get the lift on and then realize I either have to miss some days of classes to troubleshoot, or drive 3 hours back to school with vibes
