It can be done at home if you have the right tools and a friend. It took me and my buddy about 6 hours (including beer breaks) with air tools to install my 3" kit. Yours may take longer being a 4.5" kit since theres more to install.

That is the exact kit that I recently installed, get a buddy, get some beer, and its not too bad of a install, and I have never done anything like that, you will need basic tools, Wd40, drill, and patients, however I too would have to recomend getting full leaf packs, trust me you will be happier.

Default stock axels???

I'm fairly new to the world of wheeling jeeps always had full sized broncos
Figured I would try something smallers bought a 1990 jeep cherokee with 3.5 lift
On it alreadys fenders are trimmed I had to replace an axel shaft when I first got the jeep I'm just wonder what's the biggest sized tires I can run with out
Blowing up.stock diffs and axels?

Default 31s on Budget Lift w/Bushwacker Flares

Anybody know if I can run 31's if I have a 1 1/2 spacer on the front and 1 inch JKS shackles on the back with Bushwacker Flat Flares? I'm going to pull my OME suspension off and run that setup. Currently, I run OME springs with Rusty's upper/lower control arms that comes out to about 3 1/2-4 inches of lift. I'm gonna purchase new(stock) suspension parts and sell the current stuff. I like the idea of a lower center of gravity and not having to worry about shimming the axle, longer brake lines, xfer case drop, etc. Thanks for any response I receive.

If you have 3.5 to 4 inch lift you should have a problem with 31s. I run 31s on my 3inch lifted jeep.

Personally, I wouldn't go higher than 33s on a 3.55 rear but some might tell you different. What axles do you have?

Hey everybody, Im sitting at 19" hub to flare from the PO front and rear which I believe is 1.5 inches in the front and 2 in the back?

I have 31" warden A/T treadwrights on there way here. I want to try and fit them without lifting more or removing my flares. I have my front bumper endcaps removed and inner fender liners removed. I fully expect to trim a little and will eventually either get a 3 inch kit or trim the fenders and get some bushwackers. I also have 4" backspaced 15x8s.

What all should I do to make them fit without rubbing much in the mean time? What part of the flares should I cut without making them look hacked? Thanks in advance.

Get the tires on there then see where out rubs a trim accordingly. Btw, they're more than likely going to rub the lcas when turning with 4"of bs.

Im running that same set up...and i have 32x11.5's...not the biggest i can stuff...but i like the flex room and they look like they fit good(not over stuffed)...still have plenty of power and decent mpg.

Damn. Ive been hearing that more backspacing meant less control arm rub and more fender rubbing. Could WJ control arms help eliminate the problem? Also what all is needed to make the control arms work on the XJ. Ive heard something about a bushing that needs to be removed...sorry for all the questions. Im 17 and this is my second ride and first 4x4.

Im near positive with 4" backspacing you will have no rub with the 31's.

EDIT: Did some searching, and there are guys running 33x12.5's with 4" backspacing...so you'd be plenty fine.
