none that i know off. Just gotta route them out of the way of drivelive and tires ,aka moving parts, and possibly a lil more fluid is needed too

Default Help on new wheels 1997 XJ

Hey guys, I just picked up a 1997 XJ Cherokee and I'm gona be putting a 4.5" rough country lift on it and upsize the tires to 32". So I was looking at some 17x8 wheels with a 5.25" BS so what I'm wondering is will this jeep be able to handle the 5.25 BS?
Thanks.

Absolutely not if you want to be able to turn. Buy wheels with 3.5-4" BS, and I recommend rethinking that Rough Country kit. Take a look at Zone Offroad

Awesome thanks, I'll look for some different wheels... And why do you advise against Rough Country?

Their customer service is hit or miss, and their kits are cheap for a reason. The 4.5" kit is the worst of the bunch because they sell the kit with short leaf springs. When people complain about the ride quality, RC recommend buying their shackle relocation boxes to remedy the issue. It's been a known issue for years, and they haven't changed anything

Many people defend RC, but it's almost always people defending their purchase; not the quality of the kit.

I caught myself looking at their relocation brackets. What's your opinion on them

I honestly haven't looked at them. I won't support that company due to their practices

I have them and I like them. Don't have anything to compare them to, but they seem solid and stout.

Default Rubicon Express Lift Kit

Hey guys, I'm looking for a good lift kit that will give me good on road and good off road capabilities. Right now I'm looking at the Rubicon Express 3.5 in lift kit (haven't decided on the monotube or twin tube shocks yet). Do any of you have experience with this lift kit, or do you have suggestions for another kit that would work better? The budget I am in for the lift is around $1200 or less.

That's a solid choice. I tend to recommend RE for people who have a realistic budget. In my opinion, the RE 4.5" lift kit is the most cost effective kit currently on the market, but you may not need the extra height

Thanks,
Yeah I didn't want to go with the 4.5 because I will be using it on the road a lot also, so I figured that 3.5 would be a perfect crossover between the two. Also I am looking at Goodyear Duratrac tires I've heard really good things about these tires, what do you think? I need tires that are good on snow and ice.

Yes

Their main criticism is a weak sidewall. We run Duratracs on all the trucks and vans at work. Rural telephone and Internet company, vehicles getting stuck is expensive lol

If you're thinking about relocation brackets, check these guys out. I've heard great things about them and I really like the design of the brackets as well as the extended shackles.
