Start w/IRO. Includes front coils, rear leaf springs, Bilstein 5125 series shocks, fixed front sway bar links, transfer drop kit, u-bolts, extended rear shackles, brake line extension brackets. http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...t_Code=IR-X4LK I’m adding an adjustable double shear track bar http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...uct_Code=10215 and adjustable upper and lower control arms. http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch..._Code=IR-SHDCA Extended brake lines. I’m not crazy about grabbing onto my hard brake lines and pulling on them to extend them. I’d rather bleed my new brake lines. http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...Code=KJ09114BK Front extended bump stops
http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...Code=KJ09114BK
Rear extended bump stops http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...Code=KJ09122BK Total is $2010.
Next is Tomken Machine XJ 4” Ultra-Flex Articulating Lift Kit. $971 http://www.tomken.com/detail.php?id=39 This includes Rear leafs with bushings, front coils, sway bar mounts, front bump stops, rear bump stops, 1" trans case drop, brake line extensions, axle shims, upper and lower adjustable control arms, u-bolts. I’m adding an adjustable track bar, http://www.tomken.com/detail.php?id=206 $186 or the IRO double shear track bar $190. http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...uct_Code=10215 and 4” quick disconnect. $104 http://www.tomken.com/detail.php?id=53 Front brake lines $53 http://www.tomken.com/detail.php?id=68 Rear brake lines $28 http://www.tomken.com/detail.php?id=56 I can find Bilstein 5100 series shocks, front and rear shocks from a 2010 TJ http://www.suspensionconnection.com/...-wrangler.html http://www.suspensionconnection.com/...-wrangler.html or Rancho front http://www.suspensionconnection.com/...er-rs5000.html and rear shocks http://www.suspensionconnection.com/...er-rs5000.html Bilsteins are first choice even considering price. To do this I need shock mount eliminators. I like these from IRO. Top front stem $30 http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...tegory_Code=UP front bottom bar pin and rear upper bar pin. $60 http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...egory_Code=PFX Total from Tomken $1156. Total from SuspensionConnection $346. Total from IRO $270. Total is $1772.
Last is Rusty’s Offroad 3” Lift which includes front 3" coil springs, rear 3" leaf springs, front and rear Hydro performance shocks, adjustable upper control and lower control arms, adjustable front track bar,
extended length stainless steel brake hoses and Grade 8 U-bolts. $870 http://www.rustysoffroad.com/rustys-...anced-kit.html Transfer case drop kit $129 http://www.rustysoffroad.com/jeep-su...kit-xj-mj.html Front upper shock mount $30 http://www.rustysoffroad.com/jeep-su...onversion.html Front bar pin eliminators $30 http://www.rustysoffroad.com/jeep-su...ors-front.html rear bar pin eliminators $30 http://www.rustysoffroad.com/jeep-su...tors-rear.html and something I’m getting regardless who I go with… extended rear sway bar links. $79 http://www.rustysoffroad.com/jeep-su...-links-xj.html Yes, I intend to keep both front and rear sway bars. I’m towing and mountain driving in snowy conditions. Only thing, I need to get rims w/different backspacing. Stock backspacing is 5.25”? I need rims w/backspacing no less than 4.0”, That’s another day. Most four wheeling is trails. Total from Rusty’s is $1170. Total from SuspensionConnection $346. Total is $1516.
There is a handful of stuff from RockAuto. Front and rear sway bar bushings, rear shackles..$109 the shackles at RockAuto are $46 each. Got to be cheaper ones. These are DayStar non-greasable shackles $53/pair http://www.jeep4x4center.com/daystar...y-kj60014.html These are Crown Auto shackles. $19 each http://www.jeep4x4center.com/shackle-52000507.html So, what is the reasoning behind greasable shackles, are they necessary? I’ve been running non-greasable bushings all over for 89,000 miles and no failures.
So, let me know what you think………..
I picked out a few things,
Bilsteins, get ones for the Cherokee XJ. They are direct fit, no BPE required.

Shackles, a leaf spring that gives lift will perform better and articulate more with an extended shackle compared to stock shackles. Greaseable or not, I do not think it matters. Figure on 1" of lift coming from shackles (for 4.5" lift use 3.5" leafs with extended shackle)

Rear sway will need to be corrected for angle (longer links) and will not be able to use until stock backspacing changes or purchase the Hellwig rear sway.

Towing? Consider a Heavy Duty leaf spring. the Tomken's have only 3 leafs and an overload leaf (might be soft for towing). BDS leafs are engineered with towing and loads in mind, 7 leaf with military wrap.

edit; I see poly bushings on the shackles and control arms, not sure about the leafs. I prefer rubber bushings for a better ride. Others prefer poly for the firmness.

Ok, so here’s what I’ve gotten in the way of research. Blue Meanie, my dealership stock 99 Cherokee is in need of a lift. I’m not going to higher than 3-1/2”-4-1/2”. I’ve got three companies in mind, Iron Rock Off Road, Tomken Machine and Rusty’s Off Road.

Total is $2010.

Next is Tomken Machine XJ 4” Ultra-Flex Articulating Lift Kit. This includes Rear leafs with bushings, front coils, sway bar mounts, front bump stops, rear bump stops, 1" trans case drop, brake line extensions, axle shims, upper and lower adjustable control arms, u-bolts. There is a handful of stuff from RockAuto, 28mm front and 16mm rear sway bar bushings, rear shackles and I’m sure I’m missing something... Total from RockAuto $109.
Let me ask another question. The shackles at RockAuto are $46 each. There are DayStar non-greasable shackles $53/pair. There are Crown Auto shackles, $19 each. What is the reasoning behind greasable shackles, are they necessary? I’ve been running non-greasable bushings all over Blue Meanie for 89,000 miles and no failures. Is it money well spent on greasable shackles or not? I want plain Jane shackles, no boomerangs, double bend or anything other than plain Jane shackles unless there's a compelling reason to drop $$ needlessly.

So, let me know what you think………..

Here are links to two different lengths of extended shackles. Also, Clayton makes a 3-way adjustable shackle.

So I want to put 33x10.50R15 on my 01 XJ and I know I can't put that size on with the set up I run now. Not looking to buy a new lift so I want to just add/upgrade to the one I have.

What I run now:
3.5in Rubicon Express lift with full new leafs & mono tube shocks
inch lowering kit for transmission - no sye & stock drive shaft
stock gears
1.25in G2 wheel spacers
stock wheels
31x10.50R15 tires

The parts I have found to add/upgrade the XJ:
JKS ACOS - to lift the front
Rubicon Express (RE) 6in boomerang shackles - to lift the rear
Rock Krawler stainless steel brake front lines
Currie currectlync heavy duty tie rod system
RE adjustable track bar
RE replacement steering stabilizer
SYE kit and driveshaft from Adams Off-road
G2 Dana 30 & Chrysler 8.25 4.56 gears
Full Traction rear BPE
RE extreme duty long arm upgrade
BW flat flares

The questions I have are the parts I've listed going to help fit 33s? Is their anything I'm missing? Will I need new shocks? And what wheels do i get, I know a 8in wide wheel is good but what backspacing/offset do I look for?

The BW flat flares will certainly fit 33s on a 3" lift. 4" or 3.75" backspacing is good.

Will they? Would I be able to get full flex with just the flares? Thank you, really don't understand back spacing and offset.

Know I'm bout to open a big can of worms, but. Looking for a track bar set up. Was planning on the IRO double shear, but I'm also digging the RE 1660. Both set ups will be about the same cost. Just wondering what you guys think. My set up so far is RE 4.5" coils, RE 3.5 leaf packs, RE 1" lift shackles, RC long arm kit (yeah I know haha) JKS discos, Etc.

They're about equal in my book. I'd pick either one.

I'll be selling my IRO track bar and bracket soon. I need to cut if off my frame stiffners where I welded about 3" of it on.

I'll take pics and PM you tomorrow. It is nothing bad. Just dirty and some scratches on the axle end where it hangs down to avoid hitting the stock axle bracket.
