You'll more than likely break axles on 36's if you actually off road..

LP30 and likely a D35, and he said he has at least one locker. I wouldn't run 36s.

I wouldn't do any hardcore crawling on 33s with stock front U-joints.

I know, I know, 33s isn't hardcore. But you know what I mean, the limit of what 33s are capable of.

I have almost brand new 31 inch mastercrafts on my jeep brand new like 3000 miles ago. but now i want 33s. Is it worth it to go with 33s at this point? I have a ax-15 with 3.73 gears. To get the 33s i have to pay like 400 and then my 31s. I want them for the stance and increased ground clearance but i dont know if its worth the drop in mpg and cost. what do you guys think?

If you regear you'll be fine.

Had any problems with vibrations? Know several guys who got wheel spacers and did not like them at all.

It'll take a long time for a professionally installed regear to redeem itself in fuel costs; I'm sure the poster will be on 37's by then anyways, and the regear will be useless.

If you are planning your tire size "limit" to be 33's, then I would invest in a regear for sure, however if your plan is still up in the air, consider hesitating. I am doubting 3.73's and 33's is that bad. You won't know just how much of a hit in fuel economy you will take until you put the bigger tires on. An extra inch of height, extra pounds, bigger contact patch- Your gears are deep enough a course of action might be try it, and then decide. I traveled 70 miles a day for a few weeks with 32's on steelies and 3.07's while I decided what my plan was going to be. Needless to say, it only lasted a couple weeks for a reason.

Edit: I think I quoted the wrong post here, haha. OP, if you have decided that 31's are a limiting factor when offroading, get 33's. If you just want to look more bad***, but are worried about MPG's, don't.

You need to torque them properly and maintain them. That is very important. Improperly installed wheel spacers can be one of the most dangerous mods you can do.

I understand properly torquing them what do you mean by maintain them? Except consistently make sure they are torqued tight all the time

Default Rustys or Rough Country

Looking at both the Rustys and RC for a 3" lift with full spring replacement. Which of the two do you guys think would be the better purchase?

Hey guys,

I recently got a 95 jeep cherokee as part of a trade, and have been tinkering with it, and been bitten by the lift bug, but I was thinking and decided that it would be easier to sell this jeep and buy one already worked on (since I don't know a lot about them, and it would be cheaper)

Anyway, I came across this one:
http://cnj.craigslist.org/cto/4312464694.html

And went and took a look at it today. Man, this things is crazy high. Im 6'1 and I had to really hoist myself up in it. Anyway, it has a 8-9" lift with long arm, It's a 99 Cherokee with 105 thousand it's 14.5 inches over stock with 36 inch super swappers r practically brand new. It has 4.56 gears with a front locker it also has a slip yoke eliminator with a brand new clutch, Straight 6 , 5 speed

He is asking 4500 for it. With all the stuff it has on it, it seems like a great deal (needs a new locker in the front )

But my question it, with such a high lift and large 36" swampers, should I expect any issues? I was planning on getting DD tires/rims as to not eat away the swampers til needed...

But the height...wow. Most the parts on it were Rusty's brand, as it was etched into the metal parts.

What are your thoughts? Should I run towards or Run away??
