By adding some leafs in the bastard pack fashion to my original leafs. I have read about people using s10 and Dakota leafs but nothing about anyone using wrangler ones.

 

i have a 4.5" on my cherokee and i want to go to a 6.5". Does anyone know about ROUGH COUNTRIES 6.5'' and wat other things would i have to change on the jeep if i do this?

 

yes they will lift it. you might have to use 2 or 3 of them.

 

good lift imo. I like RC and their products. im doing this swap right now. You will need almost everything new. other than trac bar. and you might need sye.

I've done a lot reading on this site and googling other stuff but am still confused as to what to do. I just got my hands on a 2000 xj sport. I need to lift it to hopefully run 31"s without fender trimming. I want the most comfortable ride(I know it's a 4x4) I can possibly get. It will be my daily driver running kids back and forth to daycare, so it needs to be a good ride. I have read that OME kits are good, but looking at them, they don't come with control arms, RE looks like it may be out of business. Will a 3" kit work or do I need 4". I don't rock crawl or mud, I will be using it for hunting and my biggest concern is dragging the bumper when going through culverts. I currenty use a tracker(no lift, 29" tires) and it will sometimes drag the hitch. Do long arm kits help ride comfort or are they just for flex? What about control arm drop kits, what is minimum lift to use them?Thanks in advance and I will post pics as the build proceeds.

 

id get a 3 inch lift. with new lower control arms. Really nice blistien 5100 shocks. you wont need long arm or control arm drop. If you go above 3 inch you have to start replacing alot more!

 

not trying to be off topic but was wondering if its okay to use some wheel spacers as my budget right now dont allow the whole new rims purchase............if it is ok, then how thick can you safely go? im using basically street tires for now, dont have any mudd tires yet. the tires are 30x9.5x15 i do play alot with the jeep, love the mudd and cant seem to stay out of it. 92 cherokee sport. thanks guys

 

wouldnt go more then a inch or inch and a half. but they are a good 80 bucks or more. if you watch your local adds you can snag some good rims for 100 bucks even!

 

1st post so don’t beat me up to bad.

Picking up a 91 XJ Cherokee for my daughter looking to put a little lifts 2 to 3” And run some 31x10.50x15 or 32x1100x15 on it keeping lift cost around $500.-$600.00. I am not a Jeep guy and know nothing about them so any how is this doable. This will be her DD and any help will be appraited. What brand of lifts do you prefer looking for something complete? Or would I need to buy separate lift parts to get the better set up. Will we have any steering /driveline issues with this amount of lift? And if you have any parts post them up too.

Id get a 3 inch lift. with new rear leaf pack and trac bar. Look at rough country and rustys offroad. And put 31's on it. You will have a very capable ride and good dd. should only cost around 450

 

I was wondering what people thought of Rusty's Offroad. People that own the products from them what do you think. I am looking at their 4.5 inch lift with their long arm kit.

 

Good stuff. Most complaints are about their shocks. Just get the upgraded shocks and you will like your lift alot. Rough country is the same way.

 

so im about to put a 6in lift on my 98 xj. what else other than a sye and adjustable trac bar do i need?

 

we installed the 6.5" RC on our '89 and then had to add the drop brackets for the lower control arms, as the ride was extremely rough. The drop brackets were a MAJOR improvement!
