The 17 s are on Tacoma 6 lugs now

 

JK/WJ wheels are 17" but you need adapters
17" ZJ wheels should bolt on


IMO though stick with 15" wheels. You won't have to jump through hoops to run them, and tires are generally cheaper.

 

On the SYE topic, is a MML an option to correct driveline angle with the XJ's? If so this might be a cheaper and easier option.

thats going to put more stress on the trans mount.

plus you can only go so high before the fan blades contact the shroud. When i installed my brown dog mounts, i noticed that the fan blades almost hit the shroud. idk if thats where stock was suppose to be due to my stock mounts were destroyed.

 

You still have the stupid factory box, that was never meant for a lift. Never get correct angles from it. That was the reason it wasn't a HUGE issue for me. Low-profile relocators were already in my build plan. No matter what leaf springs I use from now on can be more or less dialed to almost perfect angles. I dd mine as well as wheel it as much as possible, which is pretty much everyday because I am surrounded by endless trails filled with rocks and grand exploration. Basically, I beat the shiit outta mine on the daily, no sag, no killed leafs. It runs sounds and feels like a jeep.

 

I still have the stupid factory engine and steering wheel too.

I'm going to be painting my jeep soon (its black) and I've been debating on wheels, I probably will only be adding a 3.5" RE lift down the road...

Whats a good size wheel 15x8 or should I stay at 7...??

is 4" backspacing sufficient?

MML is motor mount lift, yes. Don't do it on an XJ unless you plan to cut a hole in your hood. They work on Wranglers in conjunction with a body lift of the same height to keep the engine and the front end vertically aligned.

 

that rubicon express 3in super ride kit doesnt include shocks that the worst part gotta spend more money to get bilsteins

 

Find a quality suspension system that includes shocks. I bet you won't.

Rock Krawler, Clayton, and TnT can't be beat. They're also out of most peoples' budgets. Rubicon Express and Iron Rock Offroad are good intermediaries.
If you plan to buy long arms, do research on IRO's Critical Path setup before buying. Also seriously consider Serious Offroad.
