Is your pinion angle in line with the t-case output angle? Also, how much play is there in the slip yoke on the end of the transfercase?

You sure the vibes aren't coming from the front end?

so with a 3 in lift you do need or dont need a t-case drop? I might buy the rusty's offroad 3in spring pack kit for 438 instead of rc 3 in for 509 what do you think?

Ask yourself the same question and I'm pretty sure you'll get an answer.

Please use your brain and think before you ask a question. Common sense people, supposedly we all have it.

I've never heard of someone needing it before.

That Rusty's kit is for sure a good deal, I wish I'd known about that when I lifted my XJ.

I have a 3 inch lift and I'm going add a 1.75 inch coil spacer in the front and a shackle in the back. My question is will I need a new track bar or will the stock one work I do have a drop bracket that came with my Pro comp lift?

What ranges do you have. Mine is a 242 cause I got 2 w. 4w full 4w part and 4 lo. If you got 2w 4high 4 lo you got 231. I think. Hah I prolly got something wrong in there. If so ill fix it.

[QUOTE=ZachsXJ;826543][QUOTE=99cherokeexj;825823][QUOTE=ZachsXJ;825733]At 4.5" He may or may not need an SYE. at 3 or 3.5" his chances of needing on are slim to none.

Thats not necessarily true. I don't care who you are, don't spread misinformation to less experienced members.

Also if he gets a 1" TC drop He'll need shims to correct his pinion angle.

So wait, you're trying to get 3" of lift, with stock leaf springs and extendable shackles?

For anything over 2" of lift the only options for the right way to do it are either A: blocks. Which are a really bad idea. or B: Full leaf packs.

I recommend option B. It will be well worth your money to invest it in doing things right the first time and not having to deal with fixing something else later on.

First off, this isn't a text message. It makes it much easier for us to understand the question you're asking and answer it if you at least use something that resembles proper punctuation.

What parts do you have so far for the front end? for 4" of lift in the front you really need to have an adjustable track bar, new coil springs, new lower control arms, new shocks and new brake lines. Sway bar disconnects are recommended also. You'll also need to get an alignment done after you lift it.

There is no guarantee that a 1" TC drop on 4.5" of lift will prevent you needing an SYE. Also if you get a 1" TC drop you'll have to measure your pinion angle and TC output angle and then shim the rear axle accordingly to get the correct pinion angle.

That Zone offroad kit also has an AAL which will ride terribly and sag over time.

Personally I'd recommend this kit: http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_3x.html With the addition of full leaf packs.

I have a 4.5 on my cherokee and yes i do have shims but no sye. I do not need one. It is not misinformation so dont talk down to me. im not stupid. All im doing is stating this from personal experiences.

Your personal experience with your Jeep does not = the same experience EVERYONE will have.

I've had about a half dozen of my friends own lifted XJs at one point or another. Most have since sold them but thats beyond my point. Some have needed an SYE at 4.5" some haven't.

I've also been around here and other XJ sites long enough to see at least a dozen threads where people were on 4.5" of lift and having driveline vibes bad enough to need an SYE. I've never seen anyone need an SYE on 3" of lift, although its still very possible.

I'm talking down to you because you're acting like you know what you're talking about and giving advice that would potentially get a member into a situation they explicitly stated they wanted to avoid. Give good advice and you won't have to hear anything from me except maybe a compliment every now and again. Do yourself a favor and don't get all butthurt about what I just said.

haha not butthurt by anymeans but i do think that you get butthurt everytime someone disagrees with you because you obviously know way more about this stuff than any other person. You dont have to get upset when someone disagrees with you.. its just a forum man.. relax. I posted up what i thought.. i didnt ask you a question so there was no reason to answer it like it was a question. dont get butthurt lol
