Wish I could go big and do what I want with the RE lift. But I have $1000 to spend on getting my jeep decent enough to take out. Bought a front bumper, already have a back bumper. JRC offroad for both of those, need to get an exhaust so ill pass smog in a few months. Mines rusted out. and then the lift. Have to do it now with tax money or else the wife says I'm cut off for a while since she's in this wanting to buy a new house and save money kick. Lol.

Piece together a lift. I have 700 into my 3.5" Re lift including, teraflex adjustable uppers , I reused the lowers from the previous owners lift , the rear of the parts i bought were new which were braided stainless brake lines , Bilstein 5100's and a Re trackbar , coils and full leafs u bolts . All the parts were you can build on a budget. My custom 2.5" manifold back exhaust cost 400 fully welded up. The cat and catback Cost 203 shipped from a vendor on here.

I'm on the same boat with the budget have just bought a house , and a 2nd kid on the way now the rest of my stuff to somewhat complete my build run anywhere from 600- 2500 so I'm stuck using refunds from now on. I just save a little longer now to ensure I get quality parts so the rig won't break on the trail.

I kinda disagree with this. Yes, RE is hands down better quality product than RC, but cost of ownership has other factors.

The RE 3.5" lift is not a 3.5" lift. Its more like a 4.5-5" lift, meaning he's also going to have to do a SYE and new DS. Also, he's going to have to buy shocks as RE does not include them...at which point he could buy a RC kit and replace the whole thing in a few years for the same cost. Also, RE has by far the highest spring rates...which is fine if he add bumpers, winch, roof rack, tire carrier to it.

HOWEVER, I still don't recommend RC either. Zone or Rusty's suspensions are better options for those wanting a 3" lift aand wanting to avoid TC drops/SYE's. As always though, just steer clear of the Rusty's T/B.

I like to recommend doing the mixed lift (OME leafs, Rusty's coils) but not everyone wants to put the research in to doing this and the patience in finding the cheapest place to get everything...

There's a vendor on here that sells Zone lifts from Cali. Look him up and get a quote, might save you some $ on shipping since it won't be as far (or you might be able to pick it up).

1. re does not require a Sye I have a t case drop a d stock shaft with no vibrations.
2. He has aftermarket bumpers already he will beinifit from a higher spring rate. Rustys uses the stock spring rate that will sag with bumpers ( learned that with my 87 Xj )
3. White body shocks are garbage there is a reason majority is the respectable brands don't come with shocks.
4. My Re never gave me 4.5-5" maybe after I first installed it for a few weeks before it settled its at 4.25 in the rear and 3.75 in the front.

1. They can not require it all they want, but if you had to do a TC drop on a 3.5" lift then this proves my point. Main reason people want to do the 3 or 3.5" lifts? Not to have to mess with things like this.
2. Rusty's is higher than stock rate on coils, but not very much. RE is almost double the stock rate if I recall. No thanks.
3. RE sells white bodies too. I think shocks are overrated to some extent. Yeah, I got OME shocks, but the most capable XJ I've personally seen runs, "the cheapest white bodies I can find" (his words) and it rides pretty good...and flexes like a beast. Besides, companies like Zone also offer upgrades to their black body shocks that are pretty reasonable and people have good things to say about them.
4. All the same, if I want over 4" of lift in the back (coincidentally I did) then I will get a 4.5" lift. Like I said earlier, most guys looking at the 3 and 3.5" lifts want them because they don't want to deal with driveline issues. That defeats the purpose if you end up with over 4" of lift in the rear and have to do a TC drop/SYE when you weren't planning on it.

I'm not bagging on RE at all, I think they have top notch product at a VERY reasonable price, but I don't agree with recommending it to someone who wants to avoid driveline issues and is on a limited budget.

I dont have the patience to sit and build a kit piece by piece lol. Who's this vendor you speak of for your exhaust? I have been looking for a decent one for cheap! I need a cat back. Mine is rusted out and I need to pass smog soon.

Still on the fence with which lift I want. I'll check out Zone. Haven't heard much about them. I just know ill have about $500 to spend. Already spent $280 for my front JRC bumper and that leaves me about $200 for an exhaust outa the $1000 I got from taxes. But yah definitely wanna stay at 3-3.5 in so as to avoid the sye and d-line.

If you use the search function you should be able to find some info. Haven't seen any bad feedback on their products. There are some guys who have recently installed them, you should be able to find pics of their results. They cost a little more than RC but less than RE.

You want a 31x10.50r15 on a 15x8 wheel with 3.75-4.5 inch back spacing with a 5x4.5 bolt pattern.

I ordered the removable flaps from them the shipping was pretty overpriced considering they came from Heber to kearns Utah ( 49 miles away ) and I know shipping should have been half as much as I paid considering I ship stuff at work all day long. I called with a question and they acted like then didn't want to be bothered. I won't spend money there again. Buy some shocks for 2" lift. Some 2" daystar spacers and a 1. 3/4" lift shackle
