I had asked before if I will need anything else other than what came with the Zone 3" lift (full packs, springs, shocks, & hardware) only one person responded that he recommended extended brake lines & LCAs....do I really need those items &/or do I need anything else? the more opinions the better.
Thanks.

I have a 3" Zone lift with full packs waiting to be installed & hav been looking for a good set of used tires before instaliing the lift and purchasing some wheels. I just found a set of 32x11.5x15 BFGs for a really good price, my question is...will they work with a 3" lift? will there be rubbing? cutting necessary? (I don't want to have to cut or any problems).
Also, what size rim would I then need? Size, width, backspacing?

With 3 inch you don't need new brake lines. Although if one day you want to go higher it's always good to maybe have them anyways. Also from what I understand, new LCAs would be necessary to avoid any rubbing when turning. I've heard people say that with 31x10.50 tires, so with 32x11.50, I'm pretty positive you will need new LCAs. Finally I don't have any experience with 32s, but some trimming might be necessary, 31x10.50 is your best bet with 3".
As for recommended wheel size, 15x8 with 3.75 - 4.25" BS
Hi guys;
I seem to have become our local go-to guy for parts and accessories on all types of Jeeps lately. If someone wants something, they call me, I get the best price, they buy it and build it.
Recently, a guy off my local Jeep forum came to me saying he wanted to go with 33"x12.5"x15" Goodyear MT/Rs set on Pro-Comp 98 steelies for his 99 XJ. No problem. I can do that easily. But then he mentioned that he wants 3.75" backspacing. Up here in BC, we have VERY strict laws about having the track width of the tires covered by flares. He'll have the Bushwacker flat flares, but by my calculations, a 12.5" wide tire on 3.75" back spaced wheels will be FAR too wide and the flares won't cover the tires. I'm thinking 4.5" back spacing.
Opinions? Suggestions?
P.S. - I know this is a dumb question that I could figure out myself, but I need a rush answer and I'm used to building Jeeps with 39"+ tires and silly off-sets and back spacing (trailer queens - I admit it).

They say they add 4.5" of coverage, but that's from body to flare edge. Not 4.5" added to where the old stock flares used to end.
I'm still thinking 4.5" back spacing with a 12.5" wide tire. Anyone have 33"x12.5" on theirs with either 3.75 or 4.5" back spacing?

Well, my 10.5" tires on 4.25" BS stick out 4" from the fenders in front and 2" in the rear. A 12.5" tire will stick out exactly 1" further, so 5" in front. If the b/w's are 4.5" from fender then you'd have 1/2" exposed in front. 4.5" BS will expose 1/4". Either way should look about right on the money to the human eye.

Got 32x11.5 15 on 3.75bs and out about two in front ... So if you got 3.75 in backspace on 12.5 you'll be at 2.5-3in of stick out...

bsm?
I am having my lift installed this weekend RE 5.5 long arm. The lift recommends " any tire wider than 10.50 will need BSM of 4-4.75" . First off I have no idea what that even means. Second I have already ordered my tires and rims, this is what I got...Mickey Thompson sidebiter 15x10 5x4.5-46 black , with 33x12.50x15 Baja Claws wrapped around them. Is this setup going to work with what I have?

What is the backspacing on the MT wheels you got? Should be listed on the specs. Basically, RE is recommending it be a number LESS than 4.75". Most aftermarket wheels are between 3.75-4.5" BS...which is good for you.
BTW, the less BS a wheel has, the further it sticks out. Its the distance from the inside edge of the wheel to the plane where the wheel mounts to the hub.
