Has anyone gone airbags on an XJ? I'm interested in putting in polyair or similar springs in the rear of mine, and setting it up to be adjustable on the move, has anyone done this? Or maybe even front and rear' eg replace front coils with airbags. Is it worth it?
I install these on trucks mostly. And usually the springs are kept and the air bags are added. Not saying this is the only way.
Normally pretty reliable. The problems I have seen are usually the air fittings breaking or coming loose from the bag.

Now, if you're slamming the thing on the ground and it's going to stay on pavement 100% of it's life then go ahead. I'd love to see it.

Haha yeah, a slammed cherokee would be something to see, but not really something i wanna own. Airbags no good for flex? Guess thats why no-one uses them in hard core rigs. I was just thinking i could get away with having a nice flexy leaf spring in the rear and using the airbags to firm them up for on the road, so i don't get seasick from the boat feeling you get from heavily loaded XJ's.
What your talking about is helper bags in the rear which will only do any good for load leveling. If its bouncing around you might want to look at different shocks something adjustable.
