Default Air flow mods on 96 XJ Country

Considering making air flow mods to my 96 XJ Country. Gibson header, Banks Monster exhaust, Eastern catalytic converter. Anyone use this combo? Am I missing anything? I have a K&N cold air intake on it now. Running lifted 4" and DuraTrac 31's.

I went the opposite way with a Banks header and Gibson exhaust. Both are reputable companies. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

The only thing more you could do is have your header ceramic coated. I had mine done at Swain. It costs a pretty penny, but I think it's worth it.

I agree go with a Banks header much better quality. Then if you want to have it coated send it to Jet-Hot the best coatings of them all and the first in the country to do exhaust headers. I have been using them for years for my race car headers and Dr Gas X-Pipe setups.

Jet Hot is certainly a good budget option if you can't afford Swain.

Seriously, though, Swain is quite a bit thicker than Jet Hot. I don't know of anybody doing a better job.

Could also add a bored throttle body to the list. 4-hole injectors and an ignition tune-up would pair well with all of that.

After reading a number of posts nobody seem really escatic about the results of these mods. Most admit that it made very little difference other than noise. Seems like a lot of $$ for little gains in whp and mpg.
