AGR Rock Ram Steering Kit / Tie Rod Drag Link
So it's that time.... I need to replace my steering gearbox @ 140,000 miles... about 500 in parts and 200 in labor.
I've done some searches and come up with nothing, I am looking to upgrade my current stock set up, does anyone know any info regarding the AGR steering kit and the currie tie rod kit?
Currently have an OME steering stabilizer - only thing past stock regarding steering. BDS 3" Kit for Susp & going bigger to 5" soon
I've never heard of AGR and wondered about reliability, drivability etc if I decided to swap over.
This is the kit.... http://www.quadratec.com/products/56112_707.htm
$300 More expensive than a stock replacement but would it be worth it ??
More add on's -
This is the Currie Tie Rod Kit...
http://www.quadratec.com/products/56116_200.htm
or

Anyone with any experience/ use or knowledge please chime in
Thanks
Kelham

apparently it eliminates the inverted Y setup allowing for a so called TRUE cross over steering.... seems way expensive for a shop made or home made kit..
You mention using the stock housings etc.... is there another way to set this up?
Sorry new to all this steering component stuff... my luck, thats whats all breaking on my jeep right now.
Just want to spend the money where it's due... dont want to replace with stock oem parts if theres aftermarket systems designed to help w/ steering bigger tires, lift, bumper, etc around the same price point or a little above..

I like the AGR assist idea. But I am not sure I would splurge for the Currie set-up. Personally I would run a Grand cherokee draglink and either a Rusty's or someone's 1 1/4" tierod and mount the ram to that.
One of the main problems with Currie set-up is lack of replacement parts available at the local parts place. They are only available from Currie, with using GC parts, replacements for worn out parts is a quick drive down the road.

That is why I asked what makes it $300+ better than the others.
If it were me the FIRST one I would look at for a complete setup would be the Serious Offroad UTK. Quick, easy, effective with minimal mods AND it uses off-the-shelf TREs you can get at any parts store. Plus Frank is a member here and a supporting vendor.
I said stock knuckle - not housing and there are 2 options - WJ knuckles/brakes or a Teraflex high-steer knuckle.
